Our own R&D, testing and machining
Circuit and firmware design, tool assembly, high-temperature ageing, pressure and vibration testing, full-range probe calibration and the machining of critical structural parts all happen inside our own works.
R&D
Development covers both the downhole tools and the surface system: downhole firmware, surface decoding algorithms, circuit board design and high-temperature ageing validation are all handled by our own engineering team. Team size and professional qualifications, together with patent details, can be provided at a technical review or during prequalification.
Take the surface system mainboard: schematic, PCB layout, impedance calculations and the full set of process documentation are produced in-house. It is a four-layer mixed-signal board; RF trace impedance is calculated to IPC-2141 and cross-checked with a field solver, SMT and through-hole parts are kept separate, work instructions go to the stations in Chinese, English and Russian, and process details down to the stencil apertures are written out item by item.
Testing
Every tool passes the following tests before it leaves the works:
- High-temperature ageing — The complete tool runs continuously at its rated temperature while drift in the key electrical parameters is logged throughout.
- Pressure testing — The outer barrel is held at rated pressure to prove out the seals and the structure.
- Vibration and shock — Three-axis swept-sine vibration and shock testing that reproduces downhole drilling conditions.
- Flow loop — The pulser cycles continuously at realistic flow rates and mud weights, confirming pulse amplitude stability and showing up valve wear.
- Probe temperature calibration — Inclination and azimuth are calibrated across the full temperature range on a non-magnetic rotary table; accuracy at the hot end is measured, not extrapolated from room temperature.
Our own test and calibration equipment includes: a stroke test bench, a sensor vibration bench, a probe check bench, an active magnetic field calibration controller with its calibration frame, a three-axis temperature calibration rig, large and small non-magnetic rotary tables, oil injection and oil filling machines, and test fixtures for the complete tool.
Manufacturing
Critical structural parts are machined on 5-axis mill-turn centres with positioning accuracy in the 0.001 mm range; deep holes are cut on dedicated deep-hole drilling and boring machines. The finishing area is held at controlled temperature, humidity and cleanliness.Which lines are ours and which work is placed with partner shops can be walked through during a factory visit.
Traceable tool by tool
Every tool carries a unique serial number, and the raw material batch, machining records, assembly technician, factory test data and run history are all traceable. If something goes wrong, it can be tracked back to the batch and the operation it came from.
